Google Analytics 4 reports
Couple a GA4 property to a site and read its sessions, key events, revenue and AI assistant visits beside Search Console data, with read-only access.
AutoPSEO reads your Google Analytics 4 data through Google's Analytics Data API and shows it inside each Search Console property, so you can follow a search from impression to click, from click to session, and from session to key event without switching tools. Access is read-only, you set it up once per site, and every GA4 report sits under Google Analytics (exp.) in the property's Analytics menu.
What AutoPSEO can do with your Analytics data
The only Analytics permission AutoPSEO asks Google for is analytics.readonly, which Google describes as letting an app "see and download your Google Analytics data" (OAuth 2.0 scopes). With it, AutoPSEO lists the GA4 properties your Google account can see and runs reports against the one you pick. It cannot edit tags, events, key events, audiences or any other setting in Google Analytics.
If you are unsure what each tool measures in the first place, Search Console vs Google Analytics explains the difference.
Setting it up
There are two steps, and each is done once:
- Per Google account: grant read-only Analytics access. You can start from the property's GA4 page or from the Google Analytics (GA4) section of Account settings. The account does not have to be the one that holds your Search Console access.
- Per site: choose which GA4 property belongs to the Search Console property you have open, and save.
How to connect a GA4 property covers both steps and what each error message means.
The GA4 reports
| Report | The question it answers |
|---|---|
| GA4 Overview | How did the site do overall, and what changed against the comparison period? |
| Channels | Which of GA4's default channels, such as Organic Search, Direct or AI Assistant, sent the sessions? |
| Sources | The same traffic by source / medium, for example google / organic against bing / organic |
| Pages | Which page paths were viewed most, from any channel? |
| Landing Pages | Which pages started sessions, and how many of those sessions bounced? |
| Error Pages | Which pages did visitors see as errors, judged by their titles? |
| Countries | Which countries did the visits come from? |
| E-commerce | What did the site earn, from which products, channels and pages? |
| Key Events | How often did one key event happen, and what drove it? |
| LLM Traffic | How many visits did ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and other assistants send? |
| Blended (GSC + GA4) | What happens after the click on each ranking page, and what is each query worth? |
Controls every GA4 report shares
- GA4 filters set the traffic segment: all traffic, organic search (
google / organic), or your own comma-separated list of up to 20 source / medium values. The Data API applies the segment, and it is independent of the Search Console filters. Blended opens ongoogle / organic; every other GA4 report opens on all traffic. - Date range and comparison use the standard toolbar described in Filters, dates & privacy. GA4 reports also offer 24, 36 and 48-month ranges, which the Search Console reports leave out because Search Console keeps 16 months of data (data retention). Every range ends yesterday.
- Tables can be sorted, searched, paged, trimmed to the columns you want, copied, or downloaded as CSV. Charts download as PNG. See Exporting data.
- Send to Slack posts the headline numbers and the top ten rows of a table to a Slack, Teams or webhook channel you have set up (Slack, Teams & webhooks). Save & share report stores a read-only snapshot of what is on screen, with an optional password and expiry date.
Who can see a site's GA4 data
Only the property's owner in AutoPSEO can couple, change or disconnect its GA4 property, or edit the Error Pages title filters. Teammates who can open the property (Sharing & team access) can read its GA4 reports once the owner has coupled one; before that, they see a note that GA4 is not available for shared properties.
Where the numbers come from
Every figure is fetched from the GA4 Data API for the coupled property and shown in that property's currency. AutoPSEO keeps identical requests in a cache for up to six hours. GA4 itself can take 24 to 48 hours to finish processing a day (Data freshness), so the most recent day may still change. The Data API quota belongs to the GA4 property and is shared with every other tool that reads it (Data API limits and quotas); when it runs out, the report asks you to try again in a minute.
Try it on the demo property
The demo property is permanently coupled to a sample GA4 property, so every report above has data before you connect your own: open the demo's GA4 overview.
Read GA4 from your AI assistant
AutoPSEO's MCP server offers three read-only tools over the same data: ga4_overview for the headline metrics against the comparison period, ga4_breakdown for sessions by channel, source / medium, source, page, landing page, country or device, and ga4_key_events for event counts. They find the GA4 property through the site, so your assistant never needs its numeric id. See MCP & ChatGPT app.
