How do I log into Google Search Console?

Getting Started

Go to search.google.com/search-console and sign in with your Google account. There is no separate Search Console password: you use a Google account, personal or work. What you see after signing in depends on that account. If your site is missing, either you are signed in with a different account from the one that has access, or nobody has added you yet.

What you need to sign in

Google's Search Console overview lists three requirements: a valid Google account, a recent version of Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari, and cookies and JavaScript turned on. No subscription or separate sign-up form is involved.

I signed in, but my website is not there

Work through the likely causes in this order:

  1. Wrong Google account. Many people have a personal and a work account. Check which account is active in the account menu and switch if needed.
  2. The site was never added. If you are the owner, add it as a property and verify it; see How do I add my website to Google Search Console?.
  3. Someone else owns it. If an agency, a developer or a colleague set it up, ask them to add your account under Settings > Users and permissions. Only owners can add users.
  4. You are looking at a different property. https://example.com/ and https://www.example.com/ can be separate properties, and a Domain property is listed separately again. Open the property selector to see every property your account can reach.

I used to have access and now I don't

Search Console keeps checking verification. If the DNS record, HTML file or tag that proved ownership was removed, for example during a website rebuild or a move to a new host, the verified owner loses verification. Google's permissions help adds that when a property has no verified owner left, its other users and delegated owners lose access after a grace period, while data keeps being collected. The fix is to verify ownership again; nothing is lost. If you are not the owner, an owner may also have removed your access, so ask them.

How do I give someone else access without sharing my login?

Never share your Google password. Add the person as a user instead: open the property, go to Settings > Users and permissions, click Add user, enter their Google account email and pick a permission level. Full users see all data and can take some actions; Restricted users see most data. You can remove them later in one step. A property can have up to 100 users who are not owners.

Can I use Search Console without logging in?

No. Every report shows data about a site you own or were given access to, so there is no public or anonymous view. If you want the numbers somewhere else, the Search Console API and tools built on it read the same data with your permission.

How AutoPSEO helps

In AutoPSEO you connect Search Console with your Google account, and it then shows every property that account can read. Teammates and clients can get their own access to chosen properties without your Google login (Sharing & team access). If properties are missing in AutoPSEO, they are usually missing from that Google account in Search Console as well, so check the steps above first.

Put your SEO content on autopilot

Connect Search Console and your site. AutoPSEO scans it and plans the first topics right away. No credit card needed.
