A daily SEO agent

An agent that reads Search Console every morning is only worth having if it stays silent on the days nothing happened.

What a daily pass should look at

Daily data is noisy, so a useful run compares like with like and reports exceptions rather than totals.

  • The settled day against the same weekday a week earlier
  • Queries that left the top 100 since yesterday
  • Pages whose clicks fell outside their own expected range
  • Index status flips on the URLs you track
  • A core, spam or ranking update starting to roll out

Schedule around the data, not the calendar

Search Console settles on a two to three day lag, so a job that asks about yesterday sees a partial day and reports a drop that is not there. Run against settled dates and make the agent state which days it covered.

Two ways to build it

The difference is how much you want to own.

  • Alert subscriptions: no agent to maintain, a severity floor per channel, and bundled daily delivery at a fixed hour
  • Your own agent on the MCP server: full control of the prompt, the thresholds and the wording, at the cost of maintaining it

Keeping it quiet

A threshold that fires every day is a threshold that gets muted within a fortnight. Start with a high severity floor, run it for two weeks, and only then lower it to the point where the channel is silent on ordinary days.

Budget

A daily pass is a handful of calls, comfortably inside 60 requests per minute per key and 1,000 per hour per account. If a backfill does hit the limit the server returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header, and the correct response is to wait rather than retry immediately.
